Manuscript Features

This MS covers portions belonging to the formation of verbs (tiṅanta), primary derivatives (kṛdanta), compounds (samāsa), and secondary derivatives (taddhita). The sūtras of Pāṇini's cited in the text are always given together with their respective numeration. There are a few corrections made by the scribe himself as well as annotations by a second hand. On most folios of fol. 1-17 the abbreviation ti° la° (for tiṅantalaghukaumudī) has been inscribed above the foliation in the left-hand margin.

The title of the work has been inscribed on the back of fol. 1, by another hand has been added: āditaḥ taddhitāntā kaumudī pūrṇā. In the centre of this folio another rule of Pāṇini together with Bhaṭṭoji's explanation has been written, possibly by the scribe himself: antādivac ca | 6 | 1 | 85 yo yam ekādeśaḥ sa pūrvasyāntavat parasyādivat syāt || rāmaḥ ||
